UAH Notches Five-Set Win at Trevecca Nazarene Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team won 3-2 (20-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10) at Trevecca Nazarene in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday. UAH rises to 16-4, while TNU slips to 7-9.
 
Turning Point
- After UAH tied the match with a 25-23 win in the fourth set, the Chargers jumped out to a 12-6 lead in the fifth en route to the 15-10 match-sealing victory.
 
Inside the Action
- The first set was tightly contested until Trevecca Nazarene outscored UAH 6-2 at the end of the frame to take the first lead on a 25-20 win.
- The Chargers did not trail once in the second set as the squad evened the match with a 25-19 win in the frame.
- The Trojans had another successful late push in the third set to regain the lead with TNU ending the stanza with six of the final nine points.
- UAH again did not trail throughout the fourth set with the Chargers forcing a fifth stanza with a 25-23 win.
- The Chargers capped off the five-set win with an early 12-6 run that helped the Blue & White to the 15-10 victory.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Abby Brooks led the team in total kills with 10 successful swats to record a double-double as she also posted 12 digs on the defensive end.
- Isabelle Barnes and Kendall Scharbert finished second to Brooks with nine kills apiece, with Barnes holding the edge in hitting percentage with a .261 swing rate.
- Haley Hop anchored the defense with 23 digs and was one of three Chargers to reach double-digit scoops as Anna LeDuc and Brooks chipped in 12 digs each.
- Sabrina Duncan and Katie Sharp tied for the team lead in assists with 18 apiece.
- Duncan additionally posted five digs and four kills on a .571 hitting percentage.
- LeDuc owned a team-high two service aces.
