TAMPA, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team fell on the road on Sunday, dropping a 63-56 decision to host Tampa. The Chargers slip to 1-1 on the year, while UT moves to 2-0.

Turning Point
-With the Chargers leading 42-41 and making an apparent stop on the defensive end, a flagrant foul was called on the rebound, and the Spartans would convert the free throws that would start a 12-5 run over the next five minutes to give the hosts a six-point lead with just under four minutes left in the game.

Sam Orf who scored 12, while
Tanner Finley knocked down three 3-pointers to join him in double figures with 10.

-Tampa scored the game's first points and went ahead by four at 7-3 at the 14:47 mark of the opening half with both team's struggling to score, but the Chargers would go on a 10-2 run over the next 3:39 with a
Dalton Dodd 3-pointer capping off the spurt to put the Chargers up 13-9 at the midway point of the half.
-The guests would enjoy that four-point lead again with 8:51 remaining, but UT responded with a 10-2 string of their own to regain its four-point lead at 19-15 with 6:08 left.
-UAH would then tie the contest on three different occasions including when
Max Shulman buried a pair of free throws to knot the game at 23-23 with 2:27 on the clock, and that would remain the score at the halftime break.
-An Orf triple out of the locker room put the Chargers ahead, and they would enjoy the advantage until a push from Tampa put the hosts up by six at 41-35 with 10:43 left in the game.
-UAH then scored the next seven points to go up by one at 42-41 at the 9:16 mark before the hosts outscored the Chargers 22-14 the rest of the way to secure the victory.
