HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team won comfortably on Senior Day, defeating visiting Mississippi College by an 87-74 score. The Chargers improve to 15-12 (8-11 Gulf South Conference), while MC slips to 9-15 (6-13 GSC).

Turning Point
-The Chargers outscored MC 26-13 over the final 10 minutes of the first half to turn a two-point advantage into a much more significant 15-point lead and would never look back in the game.

-On Senior Day, it was redshirt freshman
Seth Swalve who led the team in scoring as he was 5-for-9 from downtown on his way to scoring 23 points while also dishing out eight assists.
-Seniors
Kip Owens and
Justin Ward both joined him in double figures by scoring 17 and 14, respectively, and Owens matched Swalve with eight assists to go along with six rebounds.
-Fellow senior
Chayse Elliott narrowly missed out on a double-double, scoring nine while grabbing a team-best 10 rebounds, and for good measure he also assisted on four baskets.
-For the game, UAH shot 50.8 percent from the floor while holding MC to a 41.0 percent day, and the Chargers were 14-for-34 from 3-point land in the contest.
-The Chargers also won the rebounding battle by a 35-34 margin.

Inside the Flow
-After MC hit 3-pointer just over a minute into the game to go up 3-2, the Chargers would respond with a 7-0 run that ultimately put the team ahead for good, and though the Choctaws would narrow the gap to just one in the first half of the opening period, a 9-0 run later in the half helped the hosts enjoy a 44-29 lead at the break.
-A Swalve triple and a dunk from Ward quickly put the Chargers ahead by 18, but a 7-0 run for the visitors later in the second pulled MC within 12 at 59-47 with 14:08 remaining.
-The Chargers then put the contest completely out of reach, outscoring the Choctaws 17-3 over a 3:31 span to go up 76-50 while grabbing what would be the team's largest lead of the night at 26.
-MC did narrow the gap down to 11 in the waning moments of the game but could never pull back within single digits.

Noteworthy
-Swalve's 23-point performance is his second-best of the season, and it also marks the second time that he has scored 20 points in a game during this his debut year in the Blue and White.
-The 10 rebounds for Elliott represent the second-best total of the year for him also, just one behind the 11 he recorded at West Georgia.
-Owens has handed out 15 assists in the team's past two games after also dishing out seven against Lee on Wednesday night.
