Chargers Begin GSC Play with 4-3 Win at Auburn Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team opened Gulf South Conference play on Friday evening with a 4-3 victory at Auburn Montgomery to begin a three-game series. UAH improves to 4-3 (1-0 GSC), while AUM dips to 6-4 (0-1 GSC).
 
Game Changer
- Nolan Ramsey delivered a pair of key hits late in the game with a solo home run to right field in the top of the eighth followed by a go-ahead RBI single through the right side in the top of the ninth to help the Chargers to the 4-3 victory.
 
Key Plays
- UAH was on the board early as back-to-back doubles by Ben Rhodes and Tyler McCown gave the Blue & White a 1-0 lead.
- Auburn Montgomery plated one run apiece in the second, third and fourth innings to pull ahead with a 3-1 lead.
- Ramsey's solo home run in the eighth cut the deficit to one run before Jay Copeland drove in a run on a single to right to knot the game at 3-3.
- The game was brought to its final score of 4-3 with Ramsey's go-ahead RBI single in the top of the ninth.
