UAH Completes Series Sweep of AUM with Two Wins Saturday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team completed the three-game sweep of Auburn Montgomery with two wins in the Gulf South Conference doubleheader by scores of 3-1 and 4-3 on Saturday afternoon. UAH improves to 6-3 (3-0), while AUM dips to 6-6 (0-3 GSC).

Game-Changer
- The Chargers utilized a pair of homers to top the War Hawks in game one, as Ben Rhodes hit his first round-tripper of the year in the first at-bat of the game followed by a go-ahead solo shot by Brady Bedingfield in the top of the eighth to push UAH to a 3-1 win.
 
Key Plays
- Rhodes leadoff homer gave UAH a 1-0 advantage in the top of the first.
- A successful sac fly by the War Hawks in the bottom of the sixth evened the score at 1-1.
- UAH pulled ahead on a solo home run by Bedingfield in the eighth, while Jack Stamper gave the Chargers an insurance run on a RBI single to right that brought the game to its 3-1 final.

- UAH totaled 12 hits in the victory, paced by Nolan Ramsey who went 3-for-5 at the dish.
- Three Chargers had two hits apiece, including Will Acuff, Bedingfield and AJ Walden.

Game Changer
- UAH came from behind to garner the series sweep of Auburn Montgomery as UAH plated two runs in the top of the seventh – highlighted by a RBI triple by Nolan Ramsey – to take a 4-3 lead which stood to be the game's final.
 
Key Plays
- After both sides traded a run in the top of the first to make it a 1-1 tie, AUM pulled ahead on a solo homer in the third by Brandt.
- A bases-loaded walk by Brady Bedingfield would tie the game back up at 2-2, but AUM regained the advantage with one run in the bottom of the sixth.
- After Ben Rhodes scored on an error, Ramsey hit a RBI triple to centerfield in the seventh to put the Chargers on top 4-3.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Rhodes led the Chargers at the plate with a team-high four base hits and two runs scored.
- Bedingfield had one of the two UAH RBI in the game while also drawing the squad's lone walk.
