MEMPHIS | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team fell on the road in a close contest on Saturday, dropping an 85-78 decision at Christian Brothers. The Chargers slip to 14-9 (7-8 Gulf South Conference), while CBU improves to 17-6 (9-6 GSC).

Turning Point
-After the Chargers built up a 75-70 lead with just under three minutes remaining in the game, the hosts went on an 11-0 run over the next 2:25 to go up 81-75 on their way to the victory.

Inside the Box Score
-UAH's three seniors scored in double figures to lead the Chargers offensively on the day with
Justin Ward's 22 points leading the way.

Kip Owens – in his final regular season game in his hometown – turned in a strong 7-for-13 showing from the floor to score 19 while also grabbing six rebounds, dishing out four assists, and collecting two steals.
-Rounding out UAH's double-figure scoring contingent was
Chayse Elliott who tallied 12 while handing out a team-best five assists.
-Joe Laravie led CBU on the day as he scored a game-best 28.
-For the contest, the Bucs outshot the Chargers by a 51.7 percent to 47.6 percent clip, and the hosts also won the rebounding battle by a 33-29 margin.
-UAH was strong from long-range as it went 13-for-32 from beyond the arc while also having a strong inside presence that led the guests to outscoring CBU 34-24 in the paint.

-It was a game of strong momentum pushes with the first belonging to Christian Brothers who built up a 26-12 advantage at the midway point of the opening half, but UAH outscored the Bucs 25-11 over the remaining 10 minutes including an Owens 3-pointer at the end of the half that leveled the contest at 37-37.
-The Bucs then started the second half much like the first, going on a 27-8 spurt over the first seven minutes to go up 64-45, but a quick nine straight points quickly narrowed the gap to just 10 less than two minutes later.
-The 9-0 run and a later 12-0 run were part of an even more impressive 30-6 stretch for the Chargers over a 10-minute span that put the guests ahead 75-70 with just under three minutes left in the contest.
-Christian Brothers then outscored UAH 15-3 over the final 2:51 to erase the deficit and secure the victory.
