TO THE SUNSHINE STATE: The UAH softball team will start a stretch of five games in four days with a three-game set in Pensacola at No. 16 West Florida this weekend, starting a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and wrapping up with a 1 p.m. single game on Sunday. The Chargers enter the weekend at 21-6 overall and 11-4 in Gulf South Conference play.

SCHEDULE CHANGE: The Chargers will also be in action on Tuesday when the team welcomes Miles. The two teams were scheduled to make up their games from February in April but have now moved to a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Charger Park on March 27.

LAST TIME OUT: UAH continued its winning ways, sweeping aside Christian Brothers last week winning 13-5, 14-2, and 8-0 with each game lasting just five innings.

AROUND THE GSC: North Alabama has extended its winning streak to 21 games and leads the conference with a perfect 14-0 mark, while UAH and its eight-game string of wins – the second-best mark in the conference – is the No. 2 team in the league at 11-4. The rest of the top five in the conference includes Valdosta State in third at 10-5, West Florida at fourth with an 8-5 record, and Montevallo and West Georgia who are tied for fourth with identical 8-7 records.

ON FIRE: In the team's previous 10 games, the Chargers are excelling at the plate by batting .434 as a team. Individually, three players are hitting .500 or better during that span led by freshman
Shelby Booker who is hitting .567.
Reagan Malone owns a .533 average during the period with
Jada Hayes hitting .500.

IN THE CLUTCH: The Chargers are hitting .386 with runners in scoring position with five players who are hitting .400 or better in those situations including the team leader Malone who is .517 with runners at second or third.

NEED FOR SPEED: UAH continues to dominate on the base paths as the Chargers rank second in the league with 79 stolen bases of which 53 have come in conference games. Individually, UAH is paced by Booker who has 17 steals to rank eighth in the GSC.

ABOUT WEST FLORIDA: UWF enters the weekend at 17-9 overall, 8-5 in GSC games, and 2-1 in limited action at home. Grace Gilbert bats a team-best .440, while Tori Perkins has knocked in 18 runs to lead the Argos in RBI. In the circle, Sarah Maloney has a 1.56 ERA to go along with a 6-1 record as UWF's top pitcher.

SERIES HISTORY: The Argos won all three meetings a year ago, but the Chargers still hold a 61-48 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs.

ABOUT MILES: The Golden Bears are 6-21 overall heading into their weekend series at Lane. Ombreyah Daly hits .339 to lead the team in average, and Davis Watkins has 16 RBI to her credit to pace the team in that statistical category. As a staff, Miles features an 8.31 ERA.
