UAH Splits Doubleheader Friday at Shorter

ROME, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team split a doubleheader on Friday to open a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Shorter as the Chargers won game one 16-2 before the Hawks took the second contest 4-1. UAH moves to 17-15 (9-8 GSC), while SU stands at 15-17 (6-11 GSC).

Game Changer
- The Chargers rallied for three runs or more in four different innings as the squad scored three in the third, five in the fourth, six in the fourth and three in the seventh on the way to the run-rule shortened 16-2 victory.
 
Inside the Box Score
- UAH had 12 base hits in the contest with a total of five Chargers posted two hits including Brady Bedingfield, Nolan Ramsey, Ben Rhodes, Robby Seemann, and AJ Walden.
- Ramsey registered a team-high five RBI in addition to adding a home run, a triple, and a run.
- Bedingfield and Rhodes tied for the team lead in runs scored with four each.
- Bedingfield went 2-for-3 at the plate with four runs, two RBI, one double, and two walks.

- The Hawks took game two behind a strong starting pitching performance by Banks Woodley who worked the full 7.0 innings with one run allowed to help Shorter to a 4-1 win.

- UAH totaled seven base hits in the loss, paced by Rhodes who went 2-for-4 at the plate.
