UAH Falls in Both Games of Doubleheader Saturday at Union

JACKSON, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader at Union on Saturday by scores of 13-5 and 5-2 to wrap up the three-game Gulf South Conference series. UAH dips to 22-21, while UU improves to 15-30.

Game Changer
- Union utilized a trio of rallies including a three-run fourth, a four-run fifth and a five-run sixth to help the hosts to a 13-5 win in game two of the series.
 
Inside the Box Score
- The Chargers combined for a total of 10 hits in the loss, led by Jay Copeland, Tyler McCown and AJ Walden with two base hits apiece.
- Walden finished with a team-high three runs, two RBI and one walk while also delivering two home runs in the contest.
- McCown also registered a home run in game one of the doubleheader, while Brady Bedingfield and Nolan Ramsey had one double and one RBI each.
- Will Acuff registered the squad's lone stolen base while going 1-for-4 at the plate.
- Jake Bracewell made the start on the mound for the Chargers, turning in 4.2 innings with five earned runs allowed and two strikeouts. His record dipped to 4-4 with the loss.

- UAH pulled ahead with two runs in the top of the first on a solo home run to lead off the contest by McCown followed by a sac fly by Ramsey.
- The chargers lead was pushed to 3-0 in the third on a sac fly by Bedingfield, but Union knotted the game at 3-3 with three runs in the fourth.
- The Chargers regained the lead on Walden's first homer of the game in the fifth.
- However, Union took its first lead of the game with four runs in the fifth followed by a five-run sixth inning to own a 12-4 advantage.
- The game was brought to its final of 13-5 as Walden belted his second round-tripper in the eighth before Union added one more run in the bottom half of the frame.

- This was Walden's first multi-homer game of the season, and he now has 12 homers this season and 49 in his career.

- Union posted a four-run rally in the bottom half of the first to take a 4-1 lead en route to a 5-2 win in the nightcap on Saturday.

- The Chargers totaled five hits in the loss, led by Will Acuff who went 2-for-3 at the plate with one double.
- Three of UAH's five hits went for extra bases as Ben Rhodes and Jack Stamper each had a double.
- Both Rhodes and Stamper scored the Chargers two runs in the game as well.
- Rhodes, Brady Bedingfield and Nolan Ramsey each drew one walk.
- UAH starting pitcher Riley Camp's record dropped to 1-3 with the loss, after working 1.1 innings with five runs allowed and one strikeout.

- A sac fly by AJ Walden in the top of the first gave UAH the early lead, but Union's four-run bottom half of the inning put the hosts ahead 4-1.
