GREENEVILLE, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team opened the 2018 campaign on Friday afternoon, falling 2-0 to Palm Beach Atlantic in a neutral site contest held at Tusculum. The Chargers start the year at 0-1, while PBA begins the year at 1-0.

Turning Points
-UAH threatened to take an early lead in the contest when Rach Collins had a strong effort towards goal in the 17th minute, but the try went just right to keep the game scoreless.
-The Chargers were on the tough end of a pair of unfortunate bounces in the 28th minute as a PBA corner caromed off of two UAH defenders and into the goal for the lone score of the first half.
-The Sailfish then added onto their lead in the 68th minute as Ashley Swanson scored to create the eventual 2-0 final.

-PBA held a 14-9 advantage in shots including a 6-2 edge in attempts that were on target.
-Each of
Brynn Colvin,
Amanda Elsey, and
Kirsten Laplante led the Chargers with a pair of shots, and Colvin accounted for both of UAH's efforts that were on frame.

Izzy Huddleston earned her first collegiate start in goal, registering three saves in the setback.
-The Sailfish earned a pair of corners in each half to hold a 4-1 edge.

Jessica Bissinger, and
Kirsten Laplante – make their debut in the Blue and White, and each of Brannon, Thompson, and Bissinger picked up starts in their first-ever collegiate game.
