Haley Hop established a program record for digs in a career on Saturday as The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team battled tough but fell 3-2 on the road at Montevallo. The Chargers slip to 15-4 (5-2 Gulf South Conference), while UM improves to 15-2 (5-1 GSC).

Noteworthy
-With a team-best 24 digs in the contest, Hop pushed her career total to 1,770 which breaks the old mark of 1,763.
-The old record had stood since 1998 when Becky Stitt finished her career.
-Hop now has 318 digs on the season, and she is averaging nearly five digs per set.

-With the fifth and deciding set tied at 8-8, Montevallo scored the next five points en route to winning the frame 15-11 to take the match.

Inside the Action
-The Chargers found themselves down 2-0 after the Falcons won 25-22 in the first and 25-18 in the second, but UAH would hold the hosts to their lower hitting percentage of the match to that point in the third while winning 25-23 to make it a 2-1 contest.
-Montevallo then was one point away from sealing the match in the fourth, leading 24-22, but kills from
Anna LeDuc and
Lorah Yonce along with an ace from
Sabrina Duncan helped the Chargers score four straight to win the frame 26-24 to force the fifth set.

-LeDuc recorded a double-double in the game with 14 kills and 16 digs, and
Abby Brooks joined her in double figures in successful attacks with 11.
-Duncan also logged a double-double, picking up 13 digs while handing out 39 assists.

Isabelle Barnes swung at a team-high .280, logging nine kills and just two miscues on 25 total swings.
-For the contest, UM outhit the Chargers by a .162 to .100 clip.
-The Falcons picked up 84 digs compared to 77 for the Chargers, and UM collected 13 blocks with UAH registering 12.
