JACKSON, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team fell on the road on Saturday, dropping a 99-75 decision at Union. The Chargers fall to 9-4 (2-3 Gulf South Conference), while UU improves to 8-6 (3-3 GSC).
 
Turning Point
-With the game tied at 43-43 coming out of the half, the hosts scored 23 of the first 26 points of the second half to take control of the contest. 
 
Inside the Box Score
-JJ Kaplan paced the Chargers offensively, scoring 20 while also grabbing a team-best seven rebounds.
-Going 7-for-10 from the floor, Malik Cook-Stroupe scored 16, and UAH's double-digit scorers were rounded out by Dalton Barkley with 13 and Seth Swalve with 11.
-Swalve handed out a team-high three assists and also added three rebounds.
-Union shot 57.7 percent for the game including going 18-for-35 from beyond the arc, while the Chargers shot 50.0 percent and had nine 3-pointers.
-The Bulldogs outrebounded the Chargers by a 40-19 margin and converted that into a key 23-6 edge in second-chance points.
 
Inside the Flow
-Union started the first half strong, going in front by eight at 15-7 with 15:34 left in the opening half, and the hosts would hold the advantage until the Chargers surged ahead for the first time after a Cook-Stroupe bucket made it 36-34 in favor of the Chargers at the 3:51 mark.
-The Chargers would go up by a game-high five later in the period before Union pulled back into a tie at 43-43 at the halftime break.
-After the Bulldogs went ahead by 21 at 67-46, the Chargers would go on a 14-3 run to narrow the gap to just 10 at 70-60 near the midway point of the second half, but UAH could ultimately pull no closer as Union secured the victory.
 
Noteworthy
-Kaplan matches his career high with 20 points, equaling the total he scored against West Florida on Dec. 15 of this season.
-UAH's seven turnovers are a season-low for the team.
