BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference released its weekly men's cross country award winners on Wednesday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Jay Day as GSC Runner of the Week.
 
Day has been named GSC Runner of the Week in back-to-back weeks, giving him four GSC Runner of the Week awards in his career.
 
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Day led the Chargers to a first-place team standing after placing first overall in the UAH Chargers Open collegiate competition with a time of 25:23.37.
 
UAH looks ahead to the Lewis Crossover Invite on Oct. 12 in Chicago, Illinois.
