UAH Earns Program's Highest-Ever Finish at Nationals Saturday

SACRAMENTO, Calif. | The No. 10 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's cross country team competed at the 2019 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course with the squad finishing in 19th amongst a field of 34 teams.
 
The Chargers 19th-place team standing is the highest in the program's history, and five of UAH's seven runners move into the program's top 10 fastest times in a 10k race with their performances Saturday.
 
Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year Allan Anderson had an extraordinary performance for the Chargers on Saturday, garnering 66th overall with a program-record time of 31:11.8.
 
Anderson was one of six freshmen to finish in the top 70 on Saturday.
 
Harold Lacroix was the second Chargers to cross the finish line with a 97th-place time of 31:33.9, and he was followed by Jacob Bishop six spots behind him in 103rd at 31:37.4.
 
Benji Knox rounded out the Chargers in the top 150 in 143rd after clocking in at 31:57.4.
 
Also competing for the Chargers on Saturday included Jay Day (169th, 32:14.3), Caleb Boys (182nd, 32:27.1) and Alex Herbst (192nd, 32:33.8).
 
UAH's 2019 season saw the program reach incredible heights, as the squad won the GSC Championship and the NCAA South Region Championship to earn a berth to Nationals.
