BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team held its own with Division I member UAB on Wednesday night, falling 74-57 in a game that counted as an exhibition for the Chargers and a regular season contest for the Blazers. UAB improves to 4-2.

Selena Pruitt had 10 points and six rebounds to help lead the Chargers in the game.
-Pruitt also added a team-high four assists to go along with a pair of steals.

Katie Speegle both matched Sanders and Pruitt with a team-high six rebounds.
-UAH fnished the night shooting 30.3 percent while UAB connected on 42.4 of its attempts.
-The Blazers won the rebounding battle by a slim 45-40 margin.

-UAH was especially strong in the first quarter, not letting the hosts go up by more than four in the period, and the Chargers led on a pair of occasions late in the period before UAB took a 14-13 lead into the second.
-UAH would tie the contest at 17-17 at the 7:38 mark of the second quarter, but the Blazers would lead by as many as nine in the period on their way to holding a 35-28 advantage at the half.
-It was not until the third quarter that the Blazers would gain their first double-digit lead, and though UAH would use a 5-0 spurt to cut its deficit to just five at the 6:29 mark, UAB then controlled play through the rest of the stanza to go ahead 61-42 going into the fourth quarter.
-The Chargers then outscored the Blazers 15-13 in the fourth to create the 74-57 final.
