HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team clinched its spot in the postseason on Thursday night while also completing a regular season sweep of visiting Lee with a 66-60 victory at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 18-6 (11-5 Gulf South Conference) with the win, while Lee slips to 12-12 (9-7 GSC).

Turning Point
-UAH used a 29-11 run over a 10-minute stretch in the second half to turn what was a 14-point deficit into a 53-49 lead at the 6:46 mark of the period, and the Chargers would not trail again the remainder of the contest.

Inside the Box Score
-Four different Chargers scored in double figures with
Seth Swalve leading the way as he went 9-for-13 from the floor with three 3-pointers to score a game-high 22 points.

JJ Kaplan recorded a double-double as he scored 15 to go along with an impressive 17 rebounds, while
Sam Orf and
Tanner Finley rounded out UAH's double-figure scorers with both scoring 10.
-The Chargers were led in assists on the night by
Kerney Lane who came off the bench to hand out five.
-For the contest, the Chargers shot 42.7 percent from the floor while holding the Flames to a 38.3 percent mark including a 28.1 percent performance in the second half.
-UAH also outrebounded Lee by a 41-34 margin.Â
-The Chargers recorded 17 assists on 23 made buckets.
-After turning the ball over three times in just over three minutes to start the game, the hosts finished the night with just 11 total giveaways.

Inside the Flow
-The Flames jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, allowing the guests to build up its first double-digit lead of the game at 15-4 by the 13:19 mark, and after UAH narrowed the gap to five later in the period, Lee went into the locker room with a 35-24 advantage at the half.
-After hitting a 3-pointer for the first bucket of the second half, Lee went ahead 38-24, but a sign of the surge to come, UAH rattled off three straight 3s of its own to quickly cut the deficit to just five at 38-33 with 15:27 left in the game.
-Lee would regain a 10-point lead at 45-35 at the 12:27 mark, but an 18-4 spurt for the Chargers that was punctuated by a Swalve triple pushed the hosts ahead 53-49 with 6:46 remaining.
-Another Swalve long-range shot pushed UAH's advantage all the way out to eight at 60-52 with 3:54 on the clock, but the Flames pulled all the way back within one at a 60-59 score with just under a minute left.
-Orf made a pair of free throws on the ensuing possession to put the Chargers ahead again by three, and Finley then blocked a shot on the other end, scooped up the rebound, and raced unimpeded on his way to an electrifying dunk that all but sealed the contest with 16 seconds remaining.

Noteworthy
-The Chargers will be making a return trip to the GSC tournament after uncharacteristically missing out a season ago, and UAH is presently fourth in the conference standings which if the season ended today would give the team a home game in the opening round.
-The 17 rebounds for Kaplan match the career-high he set earlier this season against Clark Atlanta, and tonight's double-double is his fifth of the season.
-Kaplan now is averaging 8.0 rebounds per game.
-Swalve matches his season-high with the 22 points, and this is the third time this season he has scored more than 20 points.
-This is the fifth time this season UAH has logged more than 40 rebounds.
