ROME, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team completed another regular season sweep of a conference opponent on Saturday, rolling past host Shorter by an 86-67 score. The Chargers move to 19-6 (12-5 Gulf South Conference) with the win, while Shorter falls to 2-22 (0-16 GSC).

-After the Hawks pulled to within six at 65-59 with 9:25 left in the game, UAH outscored the hosts by a 17-2 margin over the next six minutes to put the game away by going up 82-61 with just 3:26 remaining.

-UAH had four players score in double figures in the contest led by
Sam Orf who went 7-for-12 from the floor including a pair of 3s to score 18 while also handing out a team-high three assists.

JJ Kaplan went 6-for-10 on his way to scoring 14 while leading the Chargers on the glass with eight boards, and he matched Orf with three helpers of his own.

-The first half of the contest was a back-and-forth affair that featured seven lead changes in the first six minutes in addition to eight ties, but with the contest tied at 27-27 at the 8:08 mark of the stanza, the Chargers would go on a 9-0 run that provided the first significant advantage for either side at 36-27 with 4:30 left until the half.
-Shorter narrowed the gap to just one in the final minute of the half, but a pair of free throws by Orf followed by a layup at the buzzer by the team's leading scorer in the contest pushed UAH up 47-42 at the half.
-The Chargers scored the first five points of the second half to go in front 52-42, and though Shorter would close back to within four just a minute and a half later, another push from the guests gave UAH a 65-52 lead with 13:01 left.
-Shorter had one last spurt of its own, scoring the next seven to pull within six, but a
Malik Cook-Stroupe 3-pointer turned the tide, sparking the aforementioned 17-2 run that gave the Chargers their largest lead of the night at 82-61 with 3:26 left in the game.
-The Hawks pulled to within 15 late, but four free throws from
Tyler Maze helped create the 86-57 final.

-Kaplan now has 201 rebounds on the year, making him the first Charger to reach 200 rebounds in a season since Seab Webster recorded 272 in the 2016-17 season.
-Orf has reached double figures in scoring in eight straight games, and he is averaging a team-high 14.3 points per contest.
-The Chargers were a perfect 12-for-12 at the charity stripe, marking the best free throw performance of the year for UAH.
