UAH Edged by Lee 73-71 in Overtime on Thursday

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell in overtime by a score of 73-71 to visiting Lee on Thursday evening at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in a Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH dips to 11-11 (9-7 GSC), while LU improves to 19-5 (13-3 GSC).

-Lee turned in a 14-12 advantage over UAH in overtime to take the Thursday evening matchup at Spragins Hall by a final score of 73-71.

-Senior Baylee Johnson paced the Chargers offense with 24 points on 7-of-17 shooting and a 3-of-5 mark on three-pointers.
-Johnson additionally led the squad with six rebounds while also posting two assists and two steals in 42 minutes on the floor.
-Holly Harris finished second to Johnson with 19 points on the night, as the freshman sank 5-of-9 from beyond the arc in addition to playing a game-high 44 minutes.

-UAH started off the first five minutes of the contest on an 11-4 run as the Chargers led 12-9 following the first quarter on Thursday.
-The Flames took a 25-17 lead into halftime after outscoring the Chargers 16-5 in the second quarter.
-The Chargers turned in 20 points in the third quarter on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, outpacing the Flames by six points in the stanza to cut the visitors lead to 39-37 entering the fourth frame.
-After UAH forced overtime outscoring Lee 22-20 in the fourth, the tightly contested matchup continued into overtime as Lee edged out UAH in the period 14-12 for the 73-71 win.
 
Noteworthy
-Johnson has scored 20 or more points on eight occasions this season.
-Harris' 44 minutes and five three-pointers are a season-high for the freshman.
-UAH has topped 70 points a total of 10 times in 2018-19.
-This was UAH's first overtime game of the season.
