BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference released its weekly women's lacrosse honorees, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team was represented by
Natalie Pachinger as GSC Defensive Player of the Week.
Â
This is the third week in a row for Pachinger to be named the league's top weekly defender, as she now has nine GSC weekly honors in her career.
Â
Pachinger – a Mentor, Ohio native – led the Chargers defense to a 16-2 win in a neutral-site matchup against Lewis, totaling a team-high three caused turnovers and seven draw controls while adding one goal in the nonconference tilt.
Â
UAH's two goals allowed are the fewest by the team since a March 10, 2017 contest against Truett-McConnell ended in a 22-1 win for the Chargers.
Â
This season, Pachinger ranks in the top three individually in the GSC in ground balls per game (6.33), draw controls per game (5.33) and caused turnovers per game (2.33).
Â
UAH jumps back into GSC play on Wednesday at Montevallo.
