UAH Starts 2019 Outdoor Campaign with UAH Charger Open

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams opened the 2019 outdoor campaign with the UAH Charger Open on Saturday at Madison Academy with a total of three NCAA provisional marks and three program records.
 
Notables
-Erin Jewell notched an NCAA provisional mark in the shot put with a first-place toss of 13.99 meters on Saturday. Jewell's toss of 13.99 meters tops the previous program record set by Jewell on May 5, 2018.
 
-Jewell also topped the NCAA provisional mark in the discus with a first-place hurl of 45.60 meters. Jewell's throw additionally bests the previous program record of 43.11 meters set by Jewell on May 5, 2018.
 
-Rebekah Voss has landed on the national list with a throw of 41.77 meters in the javelin.
 
-Jade Johnson broke the program record in the triple jump with 11.11 meters in the event, besting the previous school record of 11.07 meters recorded by Alex Briscoe on March 1, 2014.
