UAH Drops Friday Night Contest at Rockhurst

KANSAS CITY, Mo. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team dropped its Friday night conference game at Rockhurst, falling 19-9. The Chargers slip to 1-6 (0-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference), while the Hawks improve to 7-2 (3-0 GLVC).
 
Turning Point
-The hosts scored 13 of the game's first 14 goals to take early control of the contest.
 
Inside the Box Score
-A pair of Chargers had three-point showings to lead UAH with both Joseph Stuber and Preston Deno scoring twice and adding an assist, while Luke LeVette added two scores.
-Josh Campbell matched LeVette with two points as he scored and picked up an assist, and Adam Zois and Reid Vender each scored a goal in the contest.
-LeVette fired off a team-high 11 shots and four that were on goal.
-Colton Nall picked up a team-high seven ground balls.
-Rockhurst outshot the Chargers by a 50-37 margin including a 29-19 difference in shots on goal.
-The hosts were 17-for-20 in clears, while the Chargers were good on 14 of their 17 attempts.
-In ground balls, the Hawks built up a 31-13 advantage.
 
Inside the Flow
-After the hosts grabbed a 2-0 lead by the 12:07 mark of the opening quarter, Stuber would cut UAH's deficit in half with 11:02 remaining in the first.
-The Hawks then scored five straight to go into the second leading 7-1, and Rockhurst went up 13-1 before Vender scored with 1:56 left until the halftime break.
-Another goal for Rockhurst made it a 14-2 game at the half, and the Chargers then outscored the home team 4-3 in the third with LeVette scoring twice in addition to goals from Zois and Deno as the teams went into the fourth stanza with the Hawks on top 17-6.
-The Chargers would also outscore the hosts in the fourth with Campbell, Deno, and Stuber scoring while UAH held the Hawks to just two goals to create the 19-9 final.
 
Noteworthy
-LeVette pushes his season goal total to 18 with his fourth straight multi-goal game and his fifth overall this season.
-The goal for Vender is his first collegiate score.
-Stuber is now fourth on the team in points with eight points from four goals and four assists.
 
Next Time Out
-UAH will look to bounce back when it stays on the road to face Maryville on Sunday. That contest is slated for 2 p.m.
