UAH Splits Doubleheader Saturday at No. 12 Delta State

CLEVELAND, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team earned a doubleheader split to open a three-game Gulf South Conference series at No. 12 Delta State, as the Statesmen won game one 6-4 before the Chargers turned around with a 5-3 victory in the night cap. UAH moves to 19-12 (9-7 GSC), while DSU sits at 22-8 (13-6 GSC).

Game-Changer
- With the game tie 1-1 in the fifth, Delta State rallied for five runs in the home half to take a 6-1 lead which helped the hosts to a 6-4 win in the series-opening matchup.

- Tyler McCown led the roster with a team-high two base hits to go along with one RBI and one stolen base.
- Will Acuff posted a roster-best two RBI with one double and one run scored.
- Landon Ezzell drew the squad's lone walk of the contest while adding an RBI on a sacrifice fly.
- Malave Bettinger, Drake Hollingsworth and Jack Stamper each had one doube in the contest, while Zach Duvall had the Chargers lone triple.

- Dylan Murphy's start on the mound in game two proved to be the difference as the sophomore worked 6.0 innings with three runs allowed and four strikeouts to guide UAH to the game-two victory.

- Palmer Ford and Steven Milke tied for the team lead in hits with two apiece, as Ford had one double while both of Milke's base hits went for doubles.
- Milke was one of five Chargers to record one RBI in the contest and he was joined by Tyler McCown, Drake Hollingsworth, Malave Bettinger and Landon Ezzell with one run driven in.
- Bettinger's lone RBI came on a solo home run in the top of the third.
- The Chargers drew six walks in the contest, led by McCown with two free passes.
