UAH Wraps Competition at APSU Invitational Friday

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Austin Peay Invitational on Friday.
 
Women's Notables
-Jade Johnson eclipsed the 12-meter mark in the triple jump for the second time this season as she topped the NCAA provisional standard with a leap of 12.08 meters for second place.
 
-Rebekah Voss won the javelin throw with a first-place hurl of 40.24 meters.
 
-Lauren Clark registered a pair of top-three finishes in the field with a first-place mark of 38.10 meters in the discus in addition to third place in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.69 meters.
 
Men's Notables
-Jay Day garnered first place in the 5000 meter, as he was the only runner to run a sub-15 minute time at 14:54.88.
 
-UAH came away with the top two spots in the javelin throw, including Miguel Cortes in first place at 54.74 meters followed by Rob Russell in second at 53.78.
 
-John Dalton notched the individual crown in the long jump, leaping a personal-best 7.00 meters.
