ROME, Ga. | The No. 13 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team picked up its fifth straight win on Thursday, earning a 90-77 win at Shorter. The Chargers improve to 13-2 (5-2 Gulf South Conference), while the Hawks fall to 3-11 (0-6 GSC).

Turning Point
-Though UAH never trailed in the game, it was an 11-2 run near the midway point of the second half that allowed the Chargers to take a four-point margin and turn into a more comfortable double-figure lead at 74-63, and the guests would lead by at least 10 for much of the remainder of the contest.

-The Chargers scored the first five points of the game, and a
Sam Orf trey at the 15:47 mark gave the Chargers an early 12-4 lead.
-A Swalve triple made it an 11-point advantage for the Chargers two minutes later, but with just over 10 minutes left in the half, Shorter had pulled into a 20-20 tie.
-A pair of free throws by Lane with just under two minutes left in the half would give UAH a 10-point lead at 43-33 before a late push from the Hawks made it a 47-43 advantage at the half.
-The Hawks would narrow the gap to just two shortly in the second 20 minutes, but a Kaplan layup at the 14:05 mark would cap a strong run for the Chargers and give the guests a 61-49 cushion.
-After surviving the aforementioned push from Shorter that allowed them to pull within four, UAH would lead by as many as 14 in the game's final minutes on its way to the win.

-This matches the 2010-11, 2005-06, and 1999-2000 teams for the best 15-game record in program history at 13-2.
-This is Kaplan's fifth double-double of the season, and it is his first since a Nov. 25 win over AUM.
-The 14 points for Lane represent a career high for the redshirt junior, and after averaging just 3.4 points per contest over the first 10 games of the season, he has averaged 7.2 points during the team's five-game winning streak.
-Shulman has reached double figures in five of the team's last six games.
