CARROLLTON, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's cross country teams raced at the 2020 Coach Gary Wilson Invitational, hosted by West Georgia, on Saturday afternoon with both squads finishing first overall in their respective races.

The UAH men's team – which is currently ranked No. 2 nationally – was paced by redshirt freshman
Gabe Henneberger with a third-place time of 26:21.67, while the Chargers women's squad was led by
Kaylee Stewart with her second straight individual championship with a first-place time of 18:33.78.

Henneberger was one of five Chargers to place in the top 10 of the field on Saturday afternoon, as four Chargers followed the freshman including
Keaton Watts in sixth at 27:10.36,
Zach Howard in seventh at 27:25.62,
Alex Ponce in eighth at 27:41.14, and
Jacob Kachadorian in 10th at 27:53.04.

Will Thompson (11th, 28:12.08),
Adam Wallenfelsz (16th, 28:43.44),
John McCrackin (21st, 29:11.84),
James Cain (24th, 29:33.74),
Mitchell Cook (35th, 30:22.00), Josh Weist (42nd, 30:57.71), and Josh Crawford (44th, 31:19.92) rounded out the UAH men's competitors on Saturday.

On the women's side, Stewart guided a group of five Chargers in the top 10 of the field that included
Emily McMurry in fourth at 20:02.83,
Marlee Mason in seventh at 20:45.23,
Tatiana Padgett in eighth at 20:49.36, and
Taylor Engram in 10th at 21:03.31.

The Chargers runners on Saturday also included
Bobby Lewis (14th, 21:24.14),
Samantha Byron (16th, 21:33.77),
Caroline Ursprung (18th, 21:43.65),
Paige Wohlgemuth (22nd, 22:23.45), and
Genevieve Ferrara (25th, 22:33.31).
