BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly men's cross country award winners, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Gabe Henneberger as GSC Freshman of the Week.
 
This is Henneberger's fourth GSC Freshman of the Week award in 2020.
 
An Enterprise, Alabama, native, Henneberger helped the Chargers to a first-place team finish at the UAB Blazer Invite Gold Race with a time of 25:08.06 for 20th overall in the 8k competition.
 
His time of 25:08.06 this past Friday was his fastest of the season by over 15 seconds.
 
Henneberger and the rest of the nationally-ranked Chargers look ahead to the 2020 Gulf South Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31, in Huntsville at the John Hunt Park Cross Country Course.
