UAH Falls at Samford in New Year's Eve Exhibition

HOMEWOOD, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team played an exhibition contest on Thursday, falling 76-61 at Division I member Samford. It was a regular season game for the Bulldogs who improve to 2-6 on the season.

-Alexis Woods continued her torrid ways, going 8-for-12 from the floor while scoring a team-best 18 to go along with a team-high eight rebounds, and for good measure she added a pair of assists and a steal.
-Thanks to three made shots from beyond the arc, Selena Pruitt chipped in with nine.
-Six other Chargers recorded points in the game.
-Each of Sloan Mann, Alaina Taylor, and Holly Harris had three assists, helping the Chargers have 13 on 20 made buckets.
-Samford shot 53 percent compared to 31 percent for the Chargers, and the hosts won the rebounding battle by a 43-30 margin.
-Of UAH's 30 rebounds, 12 were on the offensive end which the team converted into 16 second-chance points.
-A significant difference in the game, Katie Allen scored 20 for the Bulldogs including a strong 6-for-8 showing from beyond the arc.
 
Next Time Out
-The Chargers will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 8, in Memphis, Tennessee, where the team will open up a two-game series against Christian Brothers. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
