UAH Completes Series Sweep of Augusta to Open 2020

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team completed the three-game series sweep of Augusta to open the 2020 campaign at Charger Park with two wins on Saturday by scores of 3-1 and 9-4. UAH improves to 3-0, while AU dips to 0-3.

Game-Changer
- After UAH knotted the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth, the Chargers went on to take the first game of the doubleheader by a 3-1 final on Saturday on a walk-off two-run home run to right by Landon Ezzell.

- Ezzell paced the Chargers offense overall in game one on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with one run, two RBI and one home run.
- Palmer Ford went 2-for-3 at the plate with one run and one walk, as Ford scored the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth.
- John Trousdale drew a team-high two walks while registering one hit and one run.
- Zach Duvall had the Chargers second extra-base hit with a double in the ninth.
- Tyler Self was handed a no-decision in his first start of the 2020 campaign, as he worked 5.0 shutout inning with six strikeouts, one walk and four hits allowed.

Game-Changer
- After Augusta took a 2-1 advantage in the top of the fifth, UAH went on an eight-run rally in the bottom half of the frame to turn the tables on the way to the 9-4 win in the nightcap on Saturday.

- Hunter Nabors led the Chargers roster with three hits in four trips to the plate, including a team-high two doubles.
- Garret Bodine drove in a roster-best two runs in a 2-for-4 day at the plate with a double and one run scored.
