BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly women's track & field award winners, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by
Jade Johnson as GSC Field Athlete of the Week and
Ann Hampton as GSC Freshman of the Week.

This is the second time Johnson has collected a weekly GSC honor, while Hampton notches her first career GSC Freshman of the Week award.

Johnson topped the NCAA provisional standard in the triple jump at 11.80 meters to place second overall at the South Carolina Invitational.

A native of Huntsville, Hampton broke the program record in the pole vault at the South Carolina Invitational with a sixth-place height of 3.40 meters. Hampton now ranks second overall in the pole vault in the South Region.

The Chargers look ahead to the 2020 Gulf South Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham next Tuesday and Wednesday.
