HUNTSVILLE | Pushing its winning streak to the second-longest in program history, The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team defeated visiting Martin Methodist 75-73 at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Thursday night. The Chargers improve to 15-8 on the season, while the RedHawks fall to 16-10.

Turning Point
-With Martin Methodist having erased a seven-point, fourth-quarter deficit and the game tied,
Aryn Sanders put the Chargers up for good with a 3-pointer at the 3:26 mark of the final quarter to help send the hosts to their eighth straight victory.

Inside the Box Score
-Five Chargers scored in double figures in the game with Sanders leading the way with 15 points to go along with nine rebounds, a team-high four assists, a steal and a block.

Alexis Woods was strong once again, logging a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

-The Chargers dominated the glass, outrebounding the RedHawks by a 41-26 margin, and with 14 offensive boards, UAH held a key 12-4 advantage in second-chance points.
-UAH's reserves outscored the visitor bench by a 34-18 clip.

-The first quarter was nip-and-tuck with three lead changes and four ties, but a Mann triple in the final minutes of the quarter sent the Chargers into the second with a 14-10 advantage.
-Just 89 seconds into the second quarter, the hosts would grab a 10-point lead with another Mann trey making it 22-12, but the RedHawks answered with a 10-0 run to tie it before taking a 34-30 lead into the halftime break.
-The lead for Martin Methodist grew to as many as six in the third quarter, but a strong 20-5 run for UAH turned a 40-34 deficit into a 54-45 advantage with less than a minute to go in the period.
-After the lead was cut to just four going into the fourth, the Chargers would hold a 57-50 after the first bucket of the final stanza was a 3-pointer from Pruitt, and UAH would lead by that same seven-point margin at 63-56 with 5:37 to go in the game after a pair of free throws from Woods.
-The guests proceeded to pull back into a tie twice, but UAH had an answer each time including the key triple from Sanders with 3:26 remaining, and four big free throws—three from Woods and another from Harris—in addition to a layup from Woods would help the Chargers hold the RedHawks at bay down the stretch.

Noteworthy
-This is now UAH's second-longest winning streak, and the team is just one off of the longest ever which was nine by the 1982-83 team.
-Woods finishes the two-game series against Martin Methodist with 29 rebounds including the career-best mark of 15 on Thursday night, and the double-double is the first of the sophomore's career.
-The four made 3-pointers and the 14 points are career-bests for Mann.
