HUNTSVILLE | The 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Teams have been announced, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville is represented by Aryn Saders who is a member of the team from District 5.

This marks the second consecutive honor for Sanders.

District 5 is comprised of institutions from the Gulf South Conference, Sunshine State Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and voting is conducted by the region's athletics communications professionals who are members of CoSIDA.

Sanders is having a terrific senior campaign, averaging a team-best 14.9 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor. She presently is among the best in the GSC in scoring (10th), rebounding (eighth), field goal percentage (11th), steals (fifth), and minutes (ninth).Â

Sanders joined the program's 1,000 point club this season, and on the year she has reached double figures in points in 19 games including six contests with at least 20 points, and she owns five double-doubles.

Also excelling in the classroom, Sanders owns a 3.94 GPA in accounting, and she is now taking masters level classes having graduated in December

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-March.

The Division II Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Divisions II Academic All-America programs.
