UAH Outlasts West Alabama with Doubleheader Sweep

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team started off the three-game Gulf South Conference series at Charger Park against West Alabama with a doubleheader sweep with wins by scores of 11-9 and 6-5 on Saturday afternoon. UAH improves to 11-5 (6-2 GSC), while UWA dips to 6-9 (1-7 GSC).

Game-Changer
- After the Chargers offense rallied for four runs in the third, two in the fourth and three in the fifth, Drake Hollingsworth delivered the game-deciding blow in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run single that helped UAH to the 11-9 win in game one on Saturday.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Wes Anderson and Hollingsworth led the Chargers offense as each went 2-for-5 with a team-high three RBI.
- Seven Chargers had multi-hit performances, with the squad totaling 16 base knocks total.
- Both Palmer Ford and Tyler McCown had two base hits and one RBI each.
- John Trousdale went 1-for-4 with two runs, a homer, one RBI and a team-high two walks.

Game-Changer
- The Chargers loaded the bases on three consecutive at-bats in the bottom of the 11th to set up a walk-off RBI single through the left side by Zach Duvall to give UAH the 6-5 win in the night cap on Saturday.

- UAH was led by Trousdale and Duvall overall with two base hits, one run scored and two RBI apiece in the win.
- Both Hunter Nabors and Garrett Bodine had two-hit performances as well.
- Tyler McCown and Will Acuff tied for the team lead in walk with two free passes each.
