HUNTSVILLE | Head coach Andrea Lemmond and The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team announces the addition of three players for the upcoming 2020-21 season. The trio includes two Alabama natives and a player from Georgia.

The Chargers will welcome Olivia Smith from Ravenwood High School in Atlanta in addition to Athens, Alabama, product Alaina Taylor from Athens High School and Bri Moore of Huntsville's Grissom High School.

Olivia Smith – Ravenwood High School – Atlanta, Georgia
-Scored more than 1,000 career points while averaging 16.7 points per contest
-Also averaged 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 4.1 steals per game
-Named an all-region performer twice
-Helped her basketball squad reach the state round of 16 in 2019-20
-Also excelled as a volleyball player, earning all-region status in 2018-19 and guiding her team to the state semifinals in 2017-18 and the state quarterfinals in 2018-19

Lemmond on Smith: Olivia will bring a lot of versatility to our squad. She runs the floor in transition, can handle through traffic, finish around the rim and is truly a three-level scorer. She will make for a tough matchup night in and night out. She reads things very well defensively and has a knack for creating turnovers.

Alaina Taylor – Athens High School – Athens, Alabama
-Scored 1,003 points for her career
-Also totaled 283 rebounds, 185 assists, and 203 steals while at AHS
-Named to the 2020 Decatur Daily all-area team
-Landed on multiple all-tournament teams

Lemmond on Taylor:Alaina is an explosive lefty point guard who shoots lights out and has a motor that never stops. Her intensity on the court is unmatched, and I can't wait to see her bring that to our team. She turns 50/50 balls into 90/10 balls for her team consistently with her effort. She has a no-fear mentality that will be very fun to coach.

Bri Moore – Grissom High School – Huntsville
-Averaged 15 points per game during her senior season while totaling 390 points
-Shot 40 percent from the floor and averaged 7.25 rebounds per contest while also adding 43 blocks during her final season at GHS

Lemmond on Moore: We are excited to welcome Bri to our basketball family. She's a tough driver, a physical rebounder and can play with her back to the basket and guard inside the post. She will bring some depth to our post position.
