Hammon & Smith Earn GSC All-Decade Recognition

HUNTSVILLE | The Gulf South Conference unveiled its Women's Basketball All-Decade Teams on Thursday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by a pair of legends as Jasmine Hammon earned First Team All-Decade status while Jordan Smith was an Honorable Mention All-Decade choice.
 
When the pair starred at UAH from the 2010-11 to 2013-14 seasons, they become the only teammate duo in GSC history to both record 2,000 career points.
 
Both helped guide UAH to a GSC tournament championship in 2013 in addition to a pair of NCAA tournament berths.
 
Hammon earned WBCA Honorable Mention All-American three times and was a four-time All-GSC performer including being named the 2013 GSC Player of the Year and the 2011 GSC Freshman of the Year. In total, she tallied a program-record 2,103 points which ranks seventh all-time in GSC history, and she ranks sixth in the GSC record book with a career scoring average of 18.1 points per game. At UAH, she also ranks first all-time with 746 rebounds and 699 made field goals.
 
A WBCA Honorable Mention All-American in 2014, Smith was a three-time All-GSC selection and was named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2013 GSC tournament. She ranks eighth all-time in the GSC with her 2,018 points, and she is fourth in the league records with 567 free throws and 10th with 231 made 3-pointers. She totaled 523 rebounds which is 10th all-time at UAH and is second in UAH history with 376 assists.
