CLEVELAND, Miss. | The 18th-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team traveled to Delta State on Friday and opened the weekend series with a 61-53 win to remain perfect in conference play. The Chargers improve to 5-1 (5-0 Gulf South Conference), while Delta State falls to 0-3 (0-3 GSC).

-With the Chargers holding a slim 52-51 lead with 3:38 left in the game, UAH would hold the hosts to just one more bucket the rest of the way to score nine of the game's last 11 points to seal the win.

-The lead would remain with UAH the rest of the way as Delta State would pull within one at 52-51 two possessions later before being held to just the one basket the remainder of the contest.
