BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference unveiled its 2020 GSC Fall All-Academic Teams on Friday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by six GSC All-Academic honorees and 23 GSC Honor Roll recipients between the men's and women's cross country programs.
 
The UAH men's cross country team – which won the 2020 GSC Championships – boasted a total of five GSC All-Academic honorees to lead the league, as both Jay Day, Alex Herbst and Harold Lacroix earned the honor for the second time in their career while Caleb Boys and Hunter Nails garnered the distinction for the first time.
 
On the women's side, Kaylee Stewart was recognized as a GSC All-Academic honoree for the first time in her career after being named to the GSC Honor Roll list in her freshman and sophomore seasons. Stewart led the Chargers at the 2020 GSC Championships with a third-place finish in the event to earn First Team All-GSC.
 
GSC All-Academic Team members must have an overall grade point average of 3.20 or better on a 4.00 scale for their entire academic career and may not be freshmen or first-semester transfers.
 
The student-athlete must be a significant contributor to the squad. Other factors include leadership, community service and extra-curricular activities. The number of student-athletes selected in each sport is determined by the number of positions normally involved in the playing of that sport. Ties are not broken in the voting process.
 
Inclusion on the GSC Academic Honor Roll requires an overall GPA of 3.00 or better.
