HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team is set to make its return to Charger Park this weekend to battle a pair of in-state foes, welcoming Montevallo for a 5 p.m. kick-off on Friday before hosting Auburn Montgomery at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The Chargers enter the match at 4-3-2 (2-2-1 Gulf South Conference), and the team is currently in ninth in the league table with fewer conference games played than the majority of the teams ahead in the standings.

After scoring twice last weekend at Union – including the game-winner in overtime – Brynn Colvin is tied for sixth in the conference with four goals on the year, and that has moved her into fifth all-time at UAH with 24 career goals.

On the other end of the field, since allowing three goals at Trevecca Nazarene in the second game of the season, the Chargers have allowed just 0.85 goals per game of the next seven contests. In years past, UAH has had to rely heavily on its goalkeepers racking up saves – the team was fourth in 2019 with 91 saves in conference games – but this season in conference contests, the Chargers have needed just 19 saves while ranking fourth in the GSC with a .792 save percentage.

Friday's opponent enters the game at 5-5-0 (2-4-0 GSC), but Montevallo has been a strong 3-1-0 away from home. Heather Gomez sits atop the UM offensive ledger, posting four goals and two assists for a team-high 10 points.

Heading into its contest at West Alabama on Friday before visiting the Rocket City on Sunday, AUM is 4-5-0 (2-4-0 GSC), but has matched Montevallo's 3-1 road record. Leading the Warhawks offensively is Mayson Jaindl who has scored four times while also adding an assist to total nine points.

Friday's meeting with Montevallo will be the 24th all-time between the two programs, and UM has won three straight following a stretch in which the Chargers had been unbeaten in four consecutive against the Falcons. The series history with AUM is more abbreviated as this will be just the eighth meeting. The Warhawks won the first five before UAH picked up a 4-2 win in 2018 and a 3-1 victory in 2019.
