HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team fell on Sunday, dropping a 2-0 decision to visiting Delta State at Charger Park. UAH dips to 3-3-1 (1-2-0 Gulf South Conference) with the setback, while the Lady Statesmen improve to 5-5-0 (5-1-0 GSC).

Delta State grabbed the early lead when Lavinia Horning scored in the 17th minute of the contest, and a free kick from just outside the box in the 33rd by Nicola Hauk would go in to give the guests what prove to be the eventual final difference in the game at a 2-0 lead.

UAH's two best chances came in the early minutes and when the game was getting late, with
Caroline Buchanan's effort saved in the seventh minute and
Devyn Thompson's attempt off a free kick being stopped in the 85th.

For the contest, Delta State would outshoot the Chargers by a 10-5 margin including a 6-2 edge in shots on goal as
Adriana Wright made four saves in goal for the Blue and White, and the visitors would earn five corners while conceding four to UAH.

Five different UAH players finished the game with a shot.

The Chargers will look to rebound next weekend in West Tennessee with a two-game road swing that starts on Friday at Union. Kick-off in Jackson is scheduled for 5 p.m.
