ST. LEO, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's cross country team earned a berth to Nationals with a second-place team finish at the 2021 NCAA South Region Championships on Saturday morning at the Abbey Course.

UAH has now qualified for the 2021 NCAA National Championships on Nov. 20, which will also be held at the Abbey Course in St. Leo, Florida. The Chargers have earned a team berth to Nationals in back-to-back South Regionals.

The Chargers were led by
Allan Anderson in the 10-kilometer race on Saturday with a time of 31:58.65 for fourth-place overall, and he was joined in the top 10 by
Jay Day in seventh at 32:19.19 and
Jacob Bishop in 10th at 32:26.44.

The Blue & White additionally benefitted from top 20 performances by
Harold Lacroix in 18th at 32:39.76 and
Alex Herbst in 20th at 32:40.00.

Anderson, Day, Bishop, Lacroix and Herbst all were named All-South Region honorees with their top 25 performances on Saturday.

Also competing for UAH on Saturday included
Sam Wilhelm in 29th at 33:04.14 and
Caleb Boys in 35th at 33:30.45.

UAH has now finished in the top two in the team standings at the NCAA South Regional in three of the past four championship seasons.
