HUNTSVILLE | Winning for the third straight game, The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team pushed past visiting Christian Brothers 72-63 on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 8-4 (8-4 Gulf South Conference), while CBU falls to 3-6 (3-6 GSC).

-With UAH's lead trimmed to just one, the Chargers would rip off a 12-2 run over a 3:04 span in the fourth quarter, going up by a 60-49 score, an 11-point lead that would prove to be unsurmountable.

Selena Pruitt shined for the Chargers, shooting 9-for-18 from the floor on her way to tallying 24 points, and she added three rebounds, three assists, and two steals for good measure.

-The first quarter was a defensive battle as neither team scored in the final 3:21 of the quarter with the game going into the second tied at 10-10.
-A 7-0 spurt – with all seven points coming from Pruitt – in the first three minutes of the second gave UAH a 17-10 lead, and the Chargers would lead the entirety of the stanza, taking a 25-21 lead into the halftime break.
-UAH would push the advantage into double figures in the third quarter, leading by as many as 13 on two occasions, but a 9-0 run for the guests would cut the lead down to just four at 37-33 with 2:45 left in the quarter.
-A Pruitt triple with one minute remaining gave UAH a 44-35 advantage, but the Bucs pulled back within five at 46-41 by the end of the quarter.
-Just over two minutes into the fourth, CBU would make it a one-point game at 48-47, but by the 4:49 mark and thanks in part to back-to-back 3-pointers by Harris and
Emme Willoughby, the Chargers would be ahead 59-49.
-CBU then would pull no closer than five the rest of the way as UAH secured the victory.

-A week after scoring 23 against West Alabama, Pruitt establishes a new season-high with the 24 points, and she is now averaging 13.6 points per contest.
-Woods establishes a career-best with the 17 rebounds – the third-best single-game mark in the GSC this season – and she earns her eighth double-double of the year.
-Harris has made multiple 3-pointers in five straight contests.Â
