HUNTSVILLE | The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee has released the teams that are under consideration for the 2021 Women's Basketball South Regional, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville is featured among the eight teams announced.
Â
For this year, the committee is not releasing actual rankings at this time, instead just releasing the eight teams that are in the mix for what will be a six-field team.
Â
Also new for this season only, the Gulf South Conference has been paired with the Peach Belt Conference and select schools from the Sunshine State Conference that are competing.
Â
In addition to the Chargers, the GSC is represented by Lee, Montevallo, Union, and Valdosta State. Schools from the PBC in the list include Clayton State, Lander, and North Georgia.
Â
The Chargers are 8-5 on the season, and the team will be back in action this weekend when it heads to Union for a two-game series.
