HUNTSVILLE | The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee has released an updated list of teams that are being considered for the 2021 Women's Basketball South Regional, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville remains featured among the eight teams announced on Wednesday.
Â
For this year, the committee is not releasing actual rankings at this time, instead just releasing the eight teams that are in the mix for what will be a six-field team.
Â
Also new for this season only, the Gulf South Conference has been paired with the Peach Belt Conference and select schools from the Sunshine State Conference that are competing.
Â
From the GSC, teams that are under consideration include Lee, Montevallo, Union, and Valdosta State. Representing the PBC are Clayton State, Lander, and North Georgia.Â
Â
The Chargers are 8-7 on the year, and the team will be back in action this weekend when it welcomes Mississippi College for the final regular season series.Â
