ROME, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team finally returned to the pitch and did so in triumphant fashion, knocking off host Shorter 3-0 in a nonconference game on Saturday evening. The Chargers start the year at 1-0, while the Hawks begin at 0-1.

Melanie Brannon opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, and she would pick up a second tally off a
Gabby Westenberger ball in the 66th to make it 2-0.
-Icing the contest, the Chargers were awarded a PK in the 88th that
Caroline Buchanan buried to create the 3-0 final.
