Chargers Wrap Up Competition at South Alabama Invitational Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams competed at the South Alabama Invitational on Sunday.
 
Notables
-Serenity Andrus registered an NCAA provisional time in the 800 meter as she won the event after clocking in at 2:13.04.
-Tyrique Davis-Giles posted an NCAA provisional time of 6.86 for sixth-place in the 60-meter dash preliminary round, which is just .04 seconds away from reaching the program record. He went on to place seventh in the finals with a time of 6.91.
-Davis-Giles additionally placed fifth overall in the 200 meter at 21.77.
-Zach Hancock topped the NCAA provisional standard in the shot put with a first-place hurl of 17.38 meters.
-Hunter Nails came away with first place overall in the mile with a time of 4:13.02, which is the fastest time in the mile by a Charger in 2021.

-UAH is back in action next Friday and Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama, for the Samford Invitational.
