CLINTON, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team continued its 14-game road swing with an 18-12 drubbing of Mississippi College on Friday afternoon to start a three-game Gulf South Conference series. UAH improves to 9-9 (8-8 GSC), while MC slips to 3-10 (0-8 GSC).

Game-Changer
-The Chargers offense notched a total of seven extra-base hits including four home runs by
Landon Ezzell, Grfiffin Rivers,
Carson Villalta and
Zach Duvall as UAH powered its way to the 18-12 win on Friday.

-UAH totaled 15 base hits as a team against Mississippi College, led by Ezzell who went 4-for-5 with a double, a homer, three runs and three RBI. Ezzell hit the Chargers first home run of the day, which was a two-run shot in the top of the third.

Colin Brewer finished second on the roster with three base hits to go along with one run, three RBI and one double.
-Rivers ended the day 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI, as he smacked a two-run home run to center in the eighth.

Zach Duvall went 1-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. He notched all three of his RBI with a three-run homer in the fourth.

Tyler McCown drew a team-high three walks and scored twice on the day.
-Villalta had a 1-for-3 performance with two runs, three RBI and two walks. The freshman hit a three-run homer to cap off a six-run rally by the Chargers in the fifth inning.

Dylan Murphy started on the mound for the Chargers, turning in 5.0 innings with five earned runs allowed and one strikeout He improved to 4-2 with the win.

Kody Keiser was stellar in relief with 3.0 innings, one run allowed, zero walks and a game-high six strikeouts.

-UAH has scored 15 or more runs four times in 2021, and the squad has 15-plus runs in back-to-back games for the first time since last season with a March 1 15-12 win over West Alabama followed by a March 7 16-0 win against Christian Brothers.
-The Chargers four home runs are the second most in a single game this season.
-Villalta has recorded his first two career home runs in back-to-back games.
-Duvall now leads the Chargers with four home runs, as his four-round trippers match his career high.
