HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's cross country team climbed two spots to No. 9 in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national rankings.

The Chargers are coming off an eighth-place team finish and first amongst Division II teams at the Florida State Open this past Friday, as the squad notched nine runners in the top 100 of the field.

Jay Day – the reigning GSC Runner of the Week – paced the Chargers in the Florida State Open with a 38th-place time of 24:59.1, which ranks in the top 25 in program history.

The USTFCCCA additionally updated its regional rankings with the Chargers ranked first on the men's side and sixth on the women's.
