CLINTON, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team cruised to its fifth straight victory with a 3-0 win (25-14, 25-12, 25-21) on Saturday afternoon at Mississippi College in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 8-4 (2-0 GSC), while MC slips to 3-5 (1-2 GSC).

The UAH attack was paced by
Kendall Scharbert with a team-high 13 kills on a .455 hitting percentage in the match, and she was joined in double-figure kills by
Molly Presnell with 10 successful swats.

Overall in the match, UAH had its highest hitting percentage of the season at .222 as the Chargers posted swing rates of .353 and .320 in the first and second set, respectively.

Sabrina Duncan boasted a strong all-around performance on Saturday, posting her fifth double-double of 2021 with a team-best 27 assists and 14 digs to go along with a roster-high two service aces.

Duncan's 14 digs led the squad defensively, followed by
Katie Sharp with 13 and
Gracie McGee with 11.
Zharia Hubbard also guided the defense with a team-high three total blocks.

The Chargers successful attacking to start out the first two sets allowed UAH to cruise to a 2-0 match lead with wins of 25-14 in the first and 25-12 in the second. After the third set became tied at 12-12, UAH took the advantage and did not relinquish the lead on the way to the victory-sealing 25-21 win in the third.

UAH is back at home next weekend for its first GSC matches at Kelly Court at Spraings Hall, beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. against Montevallo.
