MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team fell on the road on Thursday night, dropping a 75-65 decision to host Montevallo. UAH slips to 9-6 (2-4 Gulf South Conference), while the Falcons improve to 7-8 (5-2 GSC).

The Chargers had a quartet that reached double figures in scoring led by
CJ Williamson who scored 16 to go along with team highs with nine rebounds and five steals.Â

Dalton Dodd was 5-for-5 from the floor including three 3-pointers to score 13, while
Max Shulman was a perfect 9-for-9 at the charity stripe on his way to scoring 11 while handing out a team-best five assists and grabbing five rebounds.

Rounding out the double-figure scorers was
Chaney Johnson who had 10.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair that featured six lead changes and eight ties, and though the Falcons would not lead by more than two in the half, UAH would build up its highest lead of the contest after a
Dalton Dodd made a 3-pointer fall at the 6:33 mark to give the Chargers a 23-16 lead before ultimately carrying a 35-32 advantage into the halftime break.

A Johnson layup to start the half put UAH up by five, but three straight 3-pointers for the Falcons put them in front, spurning them on towards leading by as many as 18 before securing the 75-65 final.

For the game, UAH shot 46.7 percent and was only 6-for-20 from beyond the arc, while the Falcons connected on 57.7 percent of their attempts including nine triples in the second half to finish the game shooting 50.9 percent.

UAH won the rebounding battle by a 28-26 margin, but UM built up a 9-2 edge in second-chance points, and another key difference in the contest was the 26-15 difference in points off turnovers that was tilted in favor of the hosts.

The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday when they conclude the two-game road swing at Shorter. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. CT in Rome, Georgia.
