BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly men's cross country award winners, and The No. 18 University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Nate Pohlsander as GSC Freshman of the Week.
 
This is Pohlsander's second GSC Freshman of the Week award this season.
 
A native of Rolla, Missouri, Pohlsander helped the Chargers to a sixth-place team finish at the Lewis Crossover 8k on Saturday as he notched a time of 24:52.8 for 40th overall.
 
He was the fourth-highest placing freshman in the race that featured a field of 213 competitors.
