ST. LEO, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball dropped its weekend finale to Florida Southern by a final score of 75-57 on Saturday afternoon in nonconference action. UAH dips to 0-2, while FSC improves to 1-1.

Haley Nichols led the Chargers in the nonconference tilt on Saturday with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds over 29 minutes on the floor, as she went a stellar 7-for-8 from the field in the contest.

Jesse Jennings rated second on the UAH roster with 10 points and six rebounds, and she was the Chargers most successful player from the charity stripe going 4-of-5 on free throws.

UAH started strong in the first quarter holding a 16-9 advantage with 2:34 remaining, but FSC would end the frame with a 17-16 advantage. The Moccasins pushed their lead to 39-25 at the half by outpacing UAH 22-9 in the second quarter.

Florida Southern added five more points to their advantage in the third quarter, before the Chargers edged the fourth quarter 16-14 to bring the game to a 73-56 final in favor of the Mocs.

UAH is back in action on Wednesday with a road matchup at Trevecca Nazarene at 5:30 p.m.
